This is a Mexican recipe. Ingredients for this recipe are pretty simple. You can add thyme if you want to enhance the flavor. It can be taken as it or with rice/pilaf
INGREDIENTS
- 40 medium shrimps with shells
- 15 cloves garlic (3 whole & 12 minced fine)
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp pepper
- 3/4 tsp white vinegar
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 5 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp lime juice
DIRECTIONS
- Split shrimp down in the middles without separating them completely starting the underside
- Remove any dark veins
- In a blender, puree whole garlic cloves, salt & pepper and vinegar
- Marinate shrimps in mixture for 30 minutes
- Heat oil and butter in pan
- Add minced garlic and saute till brown (3 minutes)
- Add shrimps with shell side up
- Lower heat, cover and cook for 2 to 3 mins or till shrimps turn opaque
- Sprinkle with lime juice and remove from heat
